Andorra la Vella
Andorra la Vella, or Andorra la Vieja, is the capital of the country.
Getting a property or an apartment to rent is not easy in this parish. Being the center of the country, the condition of the apartments for rent in Andorra la Vella is usually worse (older apartments with little sun and few views of the valley).
Generally the apartments for rent in this parish tend to be small (about 87m2), with an entrance hall, fitted closets, old furniture, old fireplace, 1 bathroom and some have an elevator (the vast majority) and others do not.
It is possible that not all apartments for rent in Andorra la Vella have parking in the same building.
In Andorra la Vella, there is also the area of La Comella. La Comella is an area of not so easy access, but quite high. It has sensational views of the valley, however it is a shady area and in winter access is not so easy in the snow. However, it is 10 minutes from the center of Andorra la Vella by car.
The Comella area is therefore a good option if you want to be in the center of Andorra la Vella, but do not want to be in an apartment. Escaldes Engordany
Escaldes Engordany is one of the most sought after areas. Generally, this parish also offers duplexes, apartments in the center of the parish and nice townhouses with very nice views of the center of La Massana.
This parish has a more affordable market price than Andorra la Vella or Escaldes Engordany. Generally you can find apartments with 2 complete bathrooms, elevator, between 2 and 3 bedrooms (some are usually a double room), kitchen office and a small office. They are also usually equipped with a storage room and a garage.
You can also find a house with views of the valley, more up in the mountains of the parish with for example 4 bedrooms, more than 2 bathrooms per floor, a large garden area, fitted closets, entrance hall, gas heating, a fireplace and more modern furniture. Obviously with storage room and garage in the same house.
In some properties in la Massana you can also find elevator inside the house. Evidently thought for that house with more than one floor.
Ordino
Undoubtedly Ordino is one of the most beautiful parishes of Andorra and also one of the most expensive along with Escaldes Engordany.
Now, in Ordino, the most common is to find results in the search for an apartment, which are rather a small house of between two or 3 bedrooms, 4 bedroom houses are not so common and less double rooms.
They usually have 2 bathrooms minimum, 3 bathrooms is the most common and enough storage inside the house, a spacious living room and rustic furniture of good quality. The surface of this type of house is usually average with a nice view of the forest and a fireplace inside the house or apartment.
In any apartment in Ordino you will find storage room, fireplace, fitted closets, a rather complicated access at the time of snowfall (compared to La Massana for example). But this type of property is very worthwhile.
Ordino is rather designed for those who are not looking to rent or buy something in the center of the country, but rather to be close to the slopes and the main services.
A property in Ordino, whether it is an apartment for rent or an apartment for sale or a house whether it is a house for rent or a house for sale, is always a good property.
This is because when it comes to renting an apartment in Ordino, they give very good results.
Encamp
Encamp is very close to the center of the country.
In Encamp you can find an apartment for rent with several bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, an average floor, kitchen, dining room, fitted closets, garage and average quality of furniture.
In Encamp the average rental price of an apartment is lower than in Andorra la Vella for example, which makes you can find a duplex with good access, full bathrooms, kitchen and views, so a very nice and quality penthouse near the main services at a good price.
Having a duplex penthouse in Encamp is one of the best options, there are even with suite and a magnificent view of all Encamp.
Keep in mind that Encamp also includes the Pas de la Casa. The Pas de la Casa is a more difficult area to access, you can usually find a good/medium quality apartment with a couple of rooms for rent. That is to say, they even rent room by room in Encamp, but shared bathrooms, a shared living-dining room in a rather small apartment surface.
The renting of this type of apartment is less and less promoted, as this type of joint apartment rental is not the normal way of renting in the country. Neither is room-by-room renting.
Canillo
For anyone looking for an apartment or a house at the foot of the slopes, Canillo is the place for you.
In Canillo you can find an apartment or a more luxurious house, with en-suite bedrooms, a large living-dining room, top quality closets, either built-in closets or normal closets, a large storage room to keep the skis, 2 complete bathrooms (the most common is to have 2 or 3 bathrooms in this type of apartment).
Usually in this type of apartment you will not find 4 bedrooms, as they are not usually so big, but they are fully equipped with modern bedrooms (always a couple of rooms), a large dining room, sometimes connected to the kitchen, so it has a good surface.
Unlike La Massana and Andorra la Vella, the atmosphere of this parish in winter is sensational. Having an apartment in Canillo in winter is what many people are looking for when renting in Andorra. So this type of apartment has a lot of output, even more than one in Andorra la Vella depending on the area, it could have more output.
How do I choose where to live?
Depending on your needs, if you need for example a small apartment or if you prefer a penthouse with 4 double rooms, you will have to take into account that in each part of Andorra there is more of one type of apartment than in another place.
Therefore, it is important that you inform about the services you want to have near your apartment and your needs, as well as all your preferences: minimum 140 m for example, with a spacious living room, an attic or duplex apartment, with suite type rooms, with complete bathrooms and a modern kitchen and living room.
